2008 is now underway and looks
like a busy year ahead.
The first snow of the year fell on the eastern counties of Scotland, while
we basked in sunshine.
All the Christmas shows seem to have done well and we have just finished
the paintings for a small"featured artist"show for the Jerdan
Gallery in Crail, Fife.
We have seven or eight exhibitions to do, some sharing with
other artists, others in group shows.
These are listed below in order throughout the year.
Two publications to look out for are the "Skye and Lochalsh Arts and Crafts Association" booklet and the "Highlands Open Studios"guide,which give the visitor an endless choice and variety of places to visit.These are available at any of the tourist offices and most members studios.

In the garden we have been working away to get a new stone wall built
up the side of the studio to try to tidy up this area and give Annie a
bit more room for the ever expanding plant collection. The wee greenhouse
had a new plastic cover as well and seems to stand the" highland
breezes" quite well.We had to strengthen the framework a bit with
wood and fence posts in each corner.
We were a bit disappointed that we had no wee blackcaps arriving in the
garden this year, as they have for the last two years.However, the other
birds seem to have gained in numbers and we now have a hoody crow couple
that have adopted us as food suppliers.
Our old red Peugeot 405 has now given up the ghost due to bodywork problems, although the engine was still going well even after 240,000 miles. We now have a Peugeot 406 which is 4 inches shorter in width, which is a bit of a nuisance as not all the bigger paintings fit in.
